partnerships & LLP's

A partnership is defined as two people trading together for profit. That is the only formality required to create a partnership.
In todays business environment all partnerships large and small need to be regulated not only to protect the business which lies behind them but also to protect the interests of the partners and their dependants. A well prepared and detailed partnership agreement will ensure that a proper and sustainable structure is established to do this. Additionally a properly prepared agreement will overide the outdated and potentially disasterous provision of the Partnership Act 1890 which will otherwise apply.
As well as advising in connection with partnerships we have experience in the formation and administration of Limited Liability Partnerships. From many points of view these corporate bodies are more akin to companies than partnerships. They are taxed in the same way as partnerships whilst offering the benefits of limited liability. The LLP route is one noe preferred by many professional partnerships.
At Christie Solicitors we can assist with:
- the formation of both parnerships and LLP's
- preparing parnership and LLP agreements for both new and exisitng businesses
- the re-structuring of partnerships and LLP's
